Pascal Devonas was born in Switzerland on the 28th of March  1973. The picturesque city of Lucerne set the stage during his early childhood. Thereafter he moved to the mountain region of Grisons. The natural beauty of this alpine landscape fascinates him in particular. Surrounded by the Alps towering above him, he spent some years working as a shepard and farmer. His bond with the nature, expressed unmistakably in his photography, was formed while working with his hands, tending to numerous cows / goats and tilling the rich soil of fertile valleys. Pascal´s keen interest in philosophy, and his thirst for knowledge concerning history, linguistics and cultures in general, led him to extensive traveling across the globe.
Pascal Devonas inate visual and intellectual perception was fed in many places such as Spain, Portugal, France, England, Italy, Germany, Austria, United States, Cuba, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Marocco, Southwest Sahara and the Czech Rebuplic. His 1995-96 journey to Nepal and India that lasted 8.5 months he considers the most memorable of them all.

Extensive residence in Spain, the Canary Islands and in the southern part of Switzerland sharpened his visual perception. His visual abilities were honed and developed through drawing, painting, photography and film. Another one of this great passions he developed during his travels is playing guitar, drums and violin. Presently he resides in the little mountain village named Surava, in Grisons, Switzerland, where he continues to photograph the stunning landscape that surrounds him, documenting nature´s harmony interacting with the human presence.
